Disclaimer: The following are the work in progress shots and technique that I took to get 1/6 Mia Alice resin kit built. Note that this is my trial by error method to build a resin kit and might not be the best way. Only use this as a reference at your own risk. Construction started with counting all the resin parts and make sure it is tally with parts shown in your instruction sheet. A photo provided as a painting guide. Flash and mold lines are hardly found. The surface is smooth with no pin holes spotted anywhere. This is one excellent casting. There are only 12 pieces thus this is a relatively simple kit to build.
The flash excess are removed and she is sent to a bath. I am using liquid detergent and water.
This kit has good fitting except for her shoulders. Putty applied on her leg to eliminate the gaps.
I am using 2 brass rods for each shoulder.
As for the leg, I am using 2 wire on left leg and 1 on the other.
Her head is quite heavy so I am putting a pin on her neck.
This kit fitting is good. However, I always has this problem that whenever I pin a kit, the fitting runs during final assembly. What I tried here is to fixed the pin position. I drilled the hole to be as accurate as possible. I intent to make the shoulders and legs a male connector. The holes in those parts are enlarge so that the rod have some free space for fitting. Next is to applied some putty into the holes with the wire inserted. This way, a perfect fitting is achieve. This also fixed the pin position, especially those that needed to be bend, making final assembly so much easier.
Note that the the main body consists of mostly clean drill holes.
The kit is washed again and then prime with Mr. Resin Surfacer before the parts are painted.
