The Making of 1/6 Ryofu Housen

Groundwork > Painting > Custom Base

Disclaimer: The following are the work in progress shots and technique that I took to get 1/6 Ryoufu Housen resin kit built. Note that this is my trial by error method to build a resin kit and might not be the best way. Only use this as a reference at your own risk.

Left pants and the small torn piece is painted in flat black and then coated with clear.
Left boot is painted in black. Earth is shaded onto it.
Right boot is slightly complicated as it mixed with flesh. Flesh is painted first and then masked. Next spray with black then Earth for the boots.
Left leg is painted with flesh first. The flesh area is then masked with masking tape and liquid mask before black is applied.
Some form of pre-shading is done here with white on black. Later the green mixture is coated over it.

Right thigh painted with flesh, masked and then paint black on the pants shreds.
Abdomen is shaded with 3 tones of flesh.
  Undergarment is painted with white.
Right arm is clean. Just painted with flesh and leave it be.
The same cannot be said for left arm since it comes with an arm band.

Flesh applied first, masked then painted with white. Later, the white arm band is washed with gray oil paint.

Fingers are painted and then masked with blue tack. Deep red is applied on the gloves.

Later, black oil wash is applied for some shading.

Black is painted on her sword and then silver for the blade.

The hilt is masked and then lightly coated with gold to have the fade off effect.

Gundam marker is applied on the recess area on the hilt.

Face is painted as usual. The liquid mask is removed and then painted her eyes and mouth with Gundam Marker.
Chest is painted with flesh first and then masked with liquid mask.

Mixture of light orange yellow is applied.

Later the blouse lining is washed with white oil paint.

Holy Cow! The damn paint peeled on her breast! Why this always happens to me? *sigh*

The area is masked with blue tack and then re-spray.
