Building MG, The Express Way

  STEP 1 - Painting Runners > STEP 2 - Building > STEP 3 - Touch Up > STEP 4 - Panel Line & Decals

Building a Bandai Master Grade model took quite a long time to paint in the conventional manner. Most people (including myself) took the process to assemble then sand, de-assemble, mask and then paint. These processes took me a million of years to complete. By that time, I have already run out of passion and energy to work on detailing.

This article is to note down the method that I use to build a Master Grade in 2 days time. The model that I use here is a 1/100 scale RGM-79 GM, which is a simple kit. Building a more complicated MG such as MG Ex-S Gundam will definitely take a longer time.

Note that this is my trial by error method and might not be the best way for you. Only use this as reference at your own risk.

STEP 1 - Painting Runners
Take out all the runners and separate it into color groups.

Some runners might be a multi-injection plastic, meaning multiple color on a single runner. Be sure to separate the color parts before painting.
Airbrush the parts along with the runner.

I use 4 paint mixtures. (Metal Black, Earth, Flesh, White:Wood Brown (2:1))

Hang it to dry. Mr.Color dries at about 20 - 30 minutes time.

The parts now look much better painted.

These processes up till now took me about 3 hours.
