| STEP 3 - Touch Up |
 |
Use low pressure and re-spray the original color on the nips. No
masking is required. Just be careful of over-spraying to the other color parts. Of course, I did not
stop there. I need some color gradation. Max Technique is a pre-shading technique and it cannot be
applied here. I am using post-shading here, a little trick that I learned from painting figures.

I got myself 2 more paint mixtures for the shadow colors, earth:black
(1:1) and white:wood brown (1:1).
I just airbrush the shadow to the kit on low pressure.
Do not worry about screw up. The next step is to mist the original color back to the kit. |
 |
The earth color that I use is a flat color. It has rough surface and
will not panel well with oil and easier to scratch off. I coat a layer of clear on it to make it smooth.
Note that there are tons of time saved on masking.

While waiting for the paint to dry, I took a break and then hand
painted some details on the core block etc.
I only used 2 colors, Silver and Gold.
These steps took me about 3 hours to complete. (Excluding painting the Core Block)
