Create a "Bokeh" using Photoshop |
A point-and-shoot camera will almost always trying to get a full depth-of-field shot (everything clear on your photo). It is almost impossible to get a blur background shot (bokeh) with it.
However, this can be achieved with a little trick with Photoshop.
1. Open your image.

2. Press CTRL J to copy the original image to a new layer
3. Select the new layer. Select Filter->Blur->Lens Blur

4. Key in a value for your "Blur Focal Distance". For this example, I am using 120.

5. Press 'D' to reset the foreground/background color to black and white
6. Select the new layer. Add new new vector mask to the layer (1.).

7. Make sure you the layer mask is selected (2.). Use a brush to paint the area where where you want it to be sharp.
8. If you make a mistake, switch the foreground color to white and paint over your mistakes and vice-versa
9. One fake "Bokeh" photo done!
