Comment
As expected from a Play Arts figure, Tifa comes with a good 22 points of articulations and expect a
respectable range of movement from her head to toe. The only minor shortcoming is her pelvic area that
slightly restricted by her ultra short mini skirt.
As with Aerith, Tifa comes with solid but bland paint application comparing to current technique seen in
the market. She comes with some shading on her shirt and her hair but there is no flesh toning.
While there is nothing wrong with the paint, I do believe Kotobukiya could strive to be better. With the
current manufacturing technology of PVC figures, we have seen PVC and action figures alike comes with much
better paint application. It has been a long time since anyone using a shinny flesh tone and yet this
Kotobukiya is still pushing out figure painted with this age old technique.
Max Factory's Figma series is a good example. I might be asking too much from a mid-size action figure
but then it is just norm for a consumer expecting something better.
Tifa head sculpting is her weakest spot. She looks alright from direct head on but goes disproportionate
from the side.
Conclusion
This is an action figure for Final Fantasy VII fans. It comes with very good articulations and sculpting.
Although Tifa comes with better articulations than Aerith in overall, she loses out at the head sculpt. If
Kotobukiya provides a more advance paint application, I might double this as a "Moveable" PVC figure.
This item is purchased locally at Midvalley Megamall.
