High Complete Model Progressive, first announce by Bandai on April 2004, is a series of almost-completed poseable models with superb design and engineering giving them exceptional mobility and realistic posing. The new HCM Pro items are, in contrast, precision scale models. The designs are perfect scale replicas of the original designs, as if they were Master Grade kits that had been reduced to half their original size. They are made of hard plastic (with PVC joints), have superb coloring and markings, and feature far more details than the MSIA figures (there's even inner details revealed by removing some of the parts!).

This figure comes in a paper box with cut out front panel displaying the merchandise. The package includes a four pages instruction manual and two plastic runners. The first runner consists of unassembled beam rifle parts and additional hands while the other runner holds the extra antennae.

This figure colored in standard red and spice-up with additional markings on the figure. The paint job is almost perfect with no paint running is detected.

The head connected to the body via a ball joint allowing free rotation and vertical movement but its shoulder cannons prohibit it to take advantage of the generous range of movement. The antennae could be detached and swapped with the extra provided. Chest armor is removable to reveal inner mechanism. Its waist joint allows 45-degree movement sideway and with limited vertical movement. The skirt armor is moveable front and sideway allowing unhindered leg movement.

Articulations on its limbs are superb where shoulder joints allow free movement and the elbows allow the arm to bend 90 degree forward. The hands are ball jointed and swappable with spare manipulator. The knees are double-jointed allowing the legs to bend backward. The feet are ball jointed and the heels are articulated, an interesting feature that allow the figure to sort-of "tip-toe".

Although this series being marketed as a model, the construction process is really a no-brainer. Any amateur could get the 10 parts done in at most 15 minutes with just a nail clipper.

Purchase this figure locally at Time Square Plaza. Although this is an exciting series, it is a tad pricey for such small piece of plastic. I could get a Master Grade or a Gundam Fix with two of these.
