Comment
The success of Revoltech series is mainly base on its super-articulated mecha. Figures are somewhat lacking behind. However, Kaiyodo is showing huge improvement on this department recently. Starting with Revoltech Saber featuring its new (at that point of time) double "revolver-joint", Kaiyodo has put a lot more effort in sculpting figures.

Technically, it is quite hard to re-create a super-articulated woman figure while retaining its body curves without revealing too many ugly joints. Kaiyodo took up the challenge and succeeded with this new "Fraulein" line.

Fraulein (German word for "young lady") Revoltech is current Kaiyodo new toy line making it debut release of Rei Ayanami from the Evangelion series. This is the brainchild of master sculptor; Tomohide Enoki utilizing the innovative "E.L.F." joint system coupled with a few Revoltech joints and can be set in a diverse range of lifelike poses.

Packaging
The figure is packaged in the signatory white Revoltech box with a cutout window. The following are the detail list of its content.

  • 1 Rei Ayanami in plug suit figure
  • 1 Spear of Longinus (a 27.5 cm spear broken down to 2 pieces)
  • 4 extra hands
  • 1 figure stand (with a double "Revoltech-Joints" on its clasp)

Conclusion
What can I say? This Fraulein series comes with curves and articulations. Currently there is no toy that has best of both worlds, not even a 12-inch figure such as a Takara’s Cool Girl, that comes with curves like this Revoltech Fraulein do.

This item does not own my perfect score owing to one complain: durability.

A Revoltech figure is suppose to be fun where one can twist, twist and twist without a damn worry in the world. I cannot do this on this figure as the joints can easily pops out especially the shoulders.

This item is purchased locally at Berjaya Time Square.

i agree about this revoltech line being flimsy. i waited for 2 months for the RIN TOHSAKA action figure and was disappointed with how the parts fell apart from each other as i was playing it. REVOLTECH toys should score 10 on the playability factor (as the getter robot revoltech)...unfortunately, despite any way to salvage the playing factor by thickening the joint ends to fit better, the soft pvc would always adjust to the new joint size. i hope they do something about this. I like my RIN action figure a lot but i find myself playing more with my SABER action figure and the GETTER one.
