Revoltech series from Kaiyodo is mainly focus on
mecha. So far their previously release anime action
figures on this series is pretty ugly and
unappetizing.
This release is Kaiyodo third attempt to release
an anime figure in this series and I think they are
doing pretty good after learning all their mistakes
in Dante and Revy.
Saber is the second generation of Revoltech.
Besides making use of the new double-jointed
"Revolver" joints, Kaiyodo has finally employed a
sculptor to sculpt their anime action figures. The
result is a pretty damn good work in the sculpting
department. Saber look like Saber as in the anime
and her costume is perfectly replicated.
Moreover, the new "Revolver" joints are pretty
ingenious. Saber costume comes with an armored long
skirt and it should limit her lower torso movement.
However, the new joints on each side of her skirt
making her long and large skirt piece quite
unobstructive. The side skirt can be flipped up,
twisted and turned in quite a number of directions.
As for the accessories, the package includes 2
swords; namely Saber's Excalibur and her Caliburn, a
phantom sword molded in clear plastic. A display
stand and base are included.
This is in overall quite good but I am not giving
it a perfect score owing to 2 minor issues. Firstly,
it is her neck. It is not moveable and it is molded
slanting forward. This makes her head jutting
forward all the time. I think it will be perfect if
the neck is molded straight up instead. Secondly, a
very minor point brought up by my own fuzziness is
her elbow are hinged jointed thus betraying her
overall perfection.

| Notice the new
"Revolver" joint at the side skirting. The
hands is using another "Revolver" joint for
freedom in movement. |
