Finally! The last final bronze figure has been release from Bandai ever since Pegasus Seiya Final in March 2005. Bandai really took their freaking own sweet time making me waited for 2 years to complete my final bronze collection.

I guess everyone who is fan in this series should know who Ikki is. I guess I should skip the intro.

Packaging
The figure comes in a packaged in a standard book box where it opens to reveal two windows; in one window is a figure of Ikki, along with his cloth parts while the other half contains the rest of his armor parts and accessories.

The following are the parts count and items in bold are of metal and bold underline are partially metal:

Left Tray
  • 1 Ikki figure
  • 1 hair fringe
  • 1 crown

  • 1 chest armor
  • 2 shoulder armor
  • 2 arm guard

Object
This is the final bronze object of the Phoenix Cloth in its third form. According to the story, Ikki accidentally touched Athena's blood in the Elysium Fields, and along with Ikki's already heightened cosmos, prompted the cloth to evolve into the Phoenix God Cloth. Do not ask me more on this. I had shamelessly copied it from Wikipedia owing to my primary source of info of the series, that is the anime, have not shown how it being transformed. As of now, you have to read the manga for this.

This final bronze object design is given quite a huge upgrade comparing to the previous April 2004 Phoenix Ikki release. This object is simply elegant with the Phoenix in a taking off pose. If this is the first release, I will be very much impressed with it. The problem with me is, after seeing 2 other final bronze objects (Pegasus and Cygnus) in the more or less similar "Take Off" pose with the same right leg positioned higher than the left, there is very little left to impress. It is the same old formula and Bandai can blame the original author for this.

As an individual item, the overall look and feel is simply fantastic. The shiny paint job make it a majestic Phoenix, no longer some junk armor hang onto a crappy frame comparing to the new cloth design in 2004 release.

From the photo, both Phoenix legs are hanging in mid air. The design looks complicated. You can guess that this spell complicated too in assembling the object. It is not as hard as in Andromeda Shun in fixing the damn chain or the paint-chipping problem in Dragon Shiryu. It is just that as the nature of the Phoenix Cloth implies, with a wrong move, it can easily pulverized into pieces and you have to start over again reforming it from atoms. In my assembling process, I have clumsily pulverized it twice and have to reform it from ground up. I am not really having fun reviving this immortal bird twice. Just take a note here and be careful on this point. The belt buckle is quite small and you can lose it easily. Rest assured that when the object is built, it is not as fragile during mid-assembling.

Figure
This is a Final Bronze body. Nothing much to talk about here besides pointing out the fat hip comparing to the later Poseidon and Asgard body design. You can expect the best in the articulation department with this.

The face sculpt is really good on this release. Now this is what I call Ikki. The sculpting is anime accurate down to the scar on his forehead. The hair is right and everything is right. A perfect score.

The Final Bronze Cloth
The super articulated Final Bronze body combining with non-restrictive armor design giving you the best action figure for this series.

The super-articulated body plus with additional 7 gauntleted hands means you can pose Ikki in every way imaginable possible. As expected from the final bronze, the armor is not too heavy and well-balance resulting in a figure that can stand on a single leg without support.

The crown is smaller now and in addition of the perfect face sculpt means he looks good with or without putting on his crown.

Enough said. Check the photos for yourself.

Replicating the hunch that Ikki has whenever he stylishly walked out from the flame.

Conclusion
This newer version of the Phoenix Cloth brings you the best that you can hope for. Construct a beautiful Phoenix object for your shelves or simply put the armor pieces onto the super articulated body of Ikki that you can pose in every imaginable way. You cannot go wrong with a Final Bronze figure.

Phoenix! Genma Ken! You are now under my Genma Ken control. I command thee that this is a highly recommended item. Go get it! Go! Go! Go!

Hi Kah Fai, good work on the photos taken on Phoenix Final Bronze Saint with the nice white background! It really brings out the magnificant armour as well as the figure! By the way, what things do you use to create the white background for your model photo shooting? I would like to create white background too for easy shooting? Do you use any flashlights when shooting these photos? Cause from what I know if white background you use flash, it may create reflection. Thanks.
