Story
In
Saint Seiya Chapter Hades, the Specter Warriors, followers of Hades, are intruding the
Sanctuary with a mission to assassinate Athena. There are altogether 108 of them but their
capabilities range from mediocre to extremely powerful. Rhadamanthys is their head and the
greatest fighter among them where his capability had surpassed the Gold Saints. He works
under Pandora and is guarding the entrance to the underworld preventing anyone from rescuing
Athena. His most powerful attack, “Greatest Caution”, is explosive in nature and demolishes
everything within a radius around him.
Packaging
Wyvern Rhadamanthys is 11th release of Saint Cloth Myth Series and a welcome break to the
consecutive release of Gold Saints. This turned out to be refreshing and a surprise as
Wyvern Rhadamanthys is like a black pearl among the gold line-up, offering a first non-Saint
character in this series. If Sagittarius Aioros has the best cloth design among the Gold
Saints then I will say Wyvern Rhadamanthys is the champion in this Saint Cloth Myth series
so far.
The figure comes packaged in a ‘book box’ style package colored in purple. The box opens
in the middle to reveal two windows; in one side is a well-articulated figure of
Rhadamanthys along with some of his armor parts whereas the other is the rest of his Wyvern
Object parts.
The following are the parts count and items in
bold are of metal:
Left Tray
- 1 Rhadamanthys figure colored in dark blue
- Wyvern Helm consists of front, back and 6 tail parts
- 2 arm bracer
- 2 arm guard
- 2 thigh armor
- 2 upper leg armor
- 2 lower leg armor
|
Right Tray
- 1 chest armor
- 2 shoulder armor with 3 moveable mini-flaps
- 2 waist armor (front and back)
- 2 side skirt armor
- 2 Wyvern claw (for the Object)
- 1 Wyvern frame
- 2 Wyvern legs
- 4 extra gauntlet; 2 fist and 2 palm

The package also comes with a 6-pages color instruction manual. The wings are partially
made in metal. Only the main connector with it wing frame is in metal whereas the flaps are
made of soft plastic. Each side has 4 moveable flaps with limited movement and its is
colored in shinning metallic black. Be careful when handling the flaps where there are
easily smeared with finger oil.

Wyvern Object
The construction of the object is complicated and I had struggle with it for more than an
hour to get it done. The object parts are in metallic chrome black and have a layer of
manufacturing oil on it making it very slippery to touch. It consists of many small delicate
parts and patience is much need to get this done right. Wyvern comes with a frame that
required putting on the skirt armor and then the chest armor in a correct sequence. The
Wyvern neck is in S-shape and proper sequence and direction is required when putting on the
arms guards and bracers. Once done, the next challenge is to attach the legs. Wyvern is a
lesser dragon and it is standing on 2 legs. Similar to Phoenix Ikki, getting the legs in the
correct position and angle is crucial in stabilizing the Object with the correct center of
gravity. The extremely tight joints on its legs make it hard to attach to the main body with
so many other parts on the frame. Moreover, the finale requires the cumbersome Wings to
attach to the Wyvern back. Once these obstacles are done, putting on the rest of the parts
is simple. The shoulder armor is put on the Wyvern chest and back. The head is from the
first half of Rhadamanthys helm, which looks like a Wyvern mouth and then the flexible tail
is made of the second half of the helm with 8 other parts connected via ball joints.
Once the Object is constructed, you will be awarded with the beauty of Wyvern Object. It
is by far the best and the biggest Object I have ever seen in the Saint Cloth Myth series. A
lesser dragon crouching with its 2 legs, S-shape neck, flexible tail, majestic wings and
complimented with its chrome metallic black color will definitely feast the eyes of its
beholder. Even the Sagittarius is nothing comparing to this.

Rhadamanthys Figure
All Saint Cloth Myth series of PVC figures comes with a fully articulated body and Bandai
did not include any improvement on the superb articulated body since Pegasus Seiya.
Rhadamanthys is of no exception and came in the standard body. The only difference here is
that the body is in dark blue and has a different head sculpt. The figure hair is painted in
yellow with yellow ochre as toning. His whole hairpiece is like a helmet and removed as a
whole. This is to accommodate his helm when he is donning his armor. The figure also has a
very ugly pair of feet which resemble the Wyvern claw and made of metal.
The figure on armor is in overall solid with no parts popping out-of-place problems. It
is painted beautifully with fancy shoulder armors that come with 3 moveable flaps each plus
a creepy but coolly designed chest armor. Following Capricorn Shura, the shoulder armor is
clasp in between the chest armor via a catch. The helm is sarcastically made of 2 separate
pieces, which are the head and buttocks of the Wyvern where the tails is dangling down like
a pony tail. The chest armor clamp the waist armor securely in place nullifies the
articulation on the waist. The large and heavy wing is the only complain that I have as its
weight will tip the balance of the figure while posing. Moreover, the catch is not that
strong and it will fall out easily during play.

Conclusion
This release is simply the best so far. A winner in term of design in both armor and object
that comes with a very attractive color. A must have item for those who collect Saint Seiya
figures.
