Kamen
Rider the First is a Japanese tokusatsu film that is
a remake (or an adaptation to be more accurate) of
the legendary television series Kamen Rider. The
film stars Masaya Kikawada as Kamen Rider 1 and
Hassei Takano as Kamen Rider 2. The film was
released theatrically on December 2005 as to
commemorate Kamen Rider's 35th anniversary.
It is common knowledge now that Bandai had released most of the Kamen Riders on their SIC series and there are only scarce amount of riders left to be exploited. It is expected that Bandai will not pass out the chance to make money out of this commemorative Kamen Rider movie, thus this "Movie Realization" is born.
This release is another twin pack, featuring both Kamen Rider 1 and 2 together as seen in the movie, as oppose to the previously separate release of riders in Volume 14 and 15 respectively. These riders have been released before thus special treatment is given in order for this to be appealing to the collectors or fans. Firstly, Bandai employing the effort of Kenji Ado, one of the lead sculptors for the popular SIC series, to sculpt these Kamen Rider thus granting these superb SIC style details.
Secondly and the most obvious improvement is the re-design of its joint system. This new system allows the figure a wider range of movement enabling it to pose poses that cannot be done before while maintaining the tight suit look and feel.

Packaging
The packaging is reverting to the not-so-bulky
SIC package where it comes thinner with only a
single tray to hold all its figures and accessories.
The package contents are as listed below.
- 1 Masked Rider 1 Figure
- 1 Masked Rider 2 figure
- 4 scarves
- 2 smaller position in front scarves
- 2 larger flowing-with-wind scarves
- 12 extra hands
- 6 extra hands for Masked Rider 1; includes 2 hands (left and right) for each pose as in chop, grip and hold
- 6 extra hands for Masked Rider 2; includes 2 hands (left and right) for each pose as in chop, grip and hold
- 2 antennae for Masked Rider 1
- 2 antennae for Masked Rider 2
A single page instruction sheet is provided, tapered to the back of background cardboard.

Figure
The joint system is re-designed thus, I will put
more focus on the articulations here.
Stating from the head, the neck is a separated piece joining the chest and head with ball joint in 2 point of articulations. This provide much better articulations and a more stylish look with its neck scarf as oppose to the previous volume 14 and 15. There are no gimmicks on the head though. This mean it is just a plain simple head with no moveable parts or detachable mask and etc. Antennae are provided and require some assembly.
Judging from the movie, the pretty boys face are shown quite a lot while they are still in their Rider suit. It will be nice to have an extra human head to be swapped as in Volume 15 but Bandai has forgotten this in their "Movie Realization" effort.
Note that the additional accessories include 4 scarves to pose with the figure. The smaller ones are for the positioning the scarf in front dangling on the chest whereas the larger ones are to pose in a wind-blowing or action poses.
The torso is ball-jointed separated into 3 segments that are the chest, waist and the bottom with henshin belt. The shoulders are much different in design. They are sort of divided into half and hinge-jointed to the chest and arms while able to rotate. There is a clasp on each shoulder to hold the pad.
The elbow is double-hinged, look less ugly than the standard double-ball joint, while granting the ability to fold 180 degrees inwards. The hand is the standard ball joint plug that can be easily removed and swapped with the provided extra hands.
The pelvic area is also something new. It is ball jointed with the thigh layered on top of the inner joint segment. It is done so preserving the tight pants look while granting articulations. The knee is also double-hinged but only able to fold at about 120 degrees inward.
The last area is the feet where it is the
standard ball joint.
Conclusion
This is not a numbered SIC release thus making
this item a unique collection. It comes in a twin
pack and priced at 4800 yen. Considering the amount
of accessories provided, is slightly higher than the
usual SIC releases. However the usual superb SIC
sculpting and paint job, and furthermore with it’s
re-design joint system, making this item worth to be
in your collection.
This item is purchased at Low Yat Plaza.

I think the angle picture is not cool enough, that make sic to be not cool too...
Hi,
I have one kamen rider 1 movie realization like this. But recently the one of the joints break. Do you know where can I find a replacement for it? I thought I would ask since you seems pretty experienced on this. Any suggestion will be very much appreciated. Thanks.
There are no replacement parts. Depending how you break the joint, you might able to glue it together again.
