Story
Kamen Rider Faiz is a Japanese Tokusatsu television series. It is the 12th installment in the famous Kamen Rider series. It is a joint collaboration between Ishimori Productions and Toei and it was originally broadcasted on TV Asahi from January 2003 to January 2004.

The story revolves around Smart Brain Corporation, the world's most powerful corporation. They are trying to take over the world using Orphenochs (modified humans whom evolve to the next stage in human evolution) to covertly kill off the world's human population. In their pursuits, they develop various high-tech equipments and among them come 3 suits of power suits, called the Rider Gears (Delta, Faiz, and Kaixa). The Rider Gears were developed to find and protect the Orphenoch King, who could fix the minor genetic defect within the Orphenochs that causes genetic structure break down with prolonged use of their powers.

The Rider Gears are stolen by Hanagata (Goat Orphenoch and former President of Smart Brain Corporation), who sends them to his "children", the Ryuseiji, so they can stop the Orphenochs from achieving their goal. Unfortunately, the Rider Gears, to be worn by Orphenochs, humans are unable to wear them without a dear price.

The Delta Gear was the first set of Kamen Rider Gear developed by the Smart Brain Corporation to protect the Orphenoch King. It never moved past prototyping stage and thus, it is not on par with Faiz and Kaixa. It has more power and speed than the subsequent Faiz and Kaixa Gears, but significantly less functionality. It lacks a sword type weapon or anything equivalent to the Faiz and Kaixa Shots. Furthermore, it lacks a support vehicle designed specifically to accompany it. Orphenochs destroyed by Kamen Rider Delta burn with a red flame, rather than the usual blue flame.

The Delta Gear was tossed around by several members of the Ryuseiji, until it was taken by Kitazaki (Dragon Orphenoch) of Lucky Clover, until he became bored with it. It was then tossed around from person to person until Shiuji Mihara was appointed its primary user. Although, it is safe for a human to use, it does cause mental side effects, whether enabling its user’s telekinesis or mental breakdown. Only humans with a strong mind and will can use the Delta Driver properly.

The Kaixa Gear was the third set of Kamen Rider Gear developed by the Smart Brain Corporation to protect the Orphenoch King. The Kaixa Gear was more powerful, but slower than the Faiz Gear was. It still did not match the Delta Gear for speed or strength, but still possessed greater functionality.

Its first known wearer is Kouta Takamiya, but the belt destroyed him when he burned up all of his implanted Orphenoch DNA. Its primary wearer is Masato Kusaka, who had a great deal more Orphenoch DNA implanted into him, but was killed by Yuji Kiba when his Orphenoch DNA started to run out. It became the main gear of Yuji Kiba towards the end of the series to symbolize the rivalry between Faiz and Kaixa.

Packaging
Another beautiful release of SIC action figures of Kamen Rider Delta and Kamen Rider Kaixa (the 30th release to be exact). It comes in a twin-pack packaged in the usual windowed color box. The box contains 2 plastic trays (upper and lower) and items rested on the trays are as listed below.

Note that item listed in bold are made of metal.

  • 1 Kaixa Phone
  • 1 Kaixa Pointer

  • 1 Delta Blaster Hand Gun (separate into 2 parts)

Lower Tray
  • 1 Blaygun's Blade (one side painted in metallic yellow)
  • 1 Kaixa Blaygun holster
  • 1 Delta Gun holster
  • 8 extra hands
    • 2 grip and 2 claws (comes in 2 pair for each Delta and Kaixa)

Masked Rider Kaixa
This is one of the two superbly detailed and fully articulated figure of Kamen Rider Kaixa. It has the standard articulations of the previously release SIC figures. The differentiating feature found on this is its photon blood. It is molded in clear yellow plastic running around its black and gold body. The visor is colored in clear deep blue.

This figure comes with loads of its Rider Gears and the Gears are accurately represented as listed below.

Kaixa Mission Memory is a small metallic card key with the Kaixa symbol on it. When this device is inserted into certain Kaixa gear, it turns them into powerful weaponry, also allowing the weapon to “Exceed Charge”. However, this mission memory is represented by a tiny clear purple plastic with Kaixa logo on it. It can attach to its phone, Kaixa Shot, Blaygun and Kaixa Pointer.

SB-913B Kaixa Driver is a high tech looking belt that generates the photon streams for the Kamen Rider armor. This is made of metal and can remove from the figure to store in the provided suitcase.

SB-913C Kaixa Shot is a digital camera that transforms into a dangerous knuckle-duster when the Kaixa Mission Memory is attached, allowing Kaixa to “Exceed Charge” and performs “Grand Impact Punch”. This item is cast in metal. Similar to "Faiz Shot", it can attach to either side of the figure belt.

SB-913B2 Kaixa Pointer is attached to the back of the figure's belt. When the Kaixa Mission Memory is attached to this pair of binoculars, it transforms into a double-barreled weapon that can be mounted on the Power Anklet of Kaixa. It can “Exceed Charge” to do the Golden Smash Kick (a high-powered laser drill double-kick).

SB-913X Blaygun, a special weapon that is both a pistol and a light saber. It turns into a blade by inserting the Kaixa Mission Memory. It then “Exceed Charge” and fire a constricting energy net from its gun section, while simultaneously over-charging the sword section and temporarily increasing Kaixa's speed. The blade is made of metal with one side painted in metallic yellow attachable to the Blaygun.

SB-913P Kaixa Phone is the control unit of the Kaixa Gear and the primary storage place for the Kaixa Mission Memory. The phone can also be transformed into Phone Blaster Mode. Its design is based off a sidekick flip mobile phone.

The only item that is not found in this release is Kaixa's own transformable motorcycle, SB-913V Side Basher. The figure also comes with additional 2 pair of hands to be swapped for different pose.

Masked Rider Delta
Kamen Rider Delta is the second figure in this twin-pack. It is obvious that the trend of clear plastic from PVC figures nowadays is influencing this SIC release. Delta comes with a clear brown smoke colored chest with visible internal mechanical details. Unlike Kaixa, its photon blood is colored in flat silver. The figure is fully articulated and superbly detailed as in Kaixa. The visor is colored in clear orange.

Unlike Kaixa, Delta has a much lesser amount of "Rider Gears". All its gears are available as seen on TV and listed below.

Delta Mission Memory is supposedly a metallic key card with the Delta symbol on it but this is represented by a tiny clear orange plastic on this release. This Mission Memory can attach to only 2 places, Delta Blaster and Delta Driver.

SB-333B Delta Driver, a high tech belt that generates the photon streams for the Kamen Rider armor. It is the primary storage place for the Delta Mission Memory. The Delta Driver is metal and can remove from the figure and store in the secure briefcase provided.

SB-333DV Delta Mover is a digital camera and primary weapon of the Delta Gear. The Delta Phone can be connected to the Delta Mover to create the Delta Blaster. As the Delta Blaster, the gun barrel extends and its view screen flips open and can act as a long range targeting scope.

SB-333P Delta Phone is the control unit of the Delta Gear. The Delta Phone can be connected to the Delta Mover to create the Delta Blaster. The Delta phone is modeled after a non-flip mobile phone, although when connected to the Delta mover, it becomes a gun-handle.

The figure also comes with additional 2 pair of hands to be swapped for different pose.

Smart Brain Suitcases
As in the previous SIC Faiz release, it comes with suitcase to store the "Rider Gears". This package comes with 2, a larger (Kaixa) and a smaller (Delta), suitcases. Both suitcases are molded in a metal theme with "Smart Brain" logo imprinted on it. It comes with moveable handle and can be open. The interior comes with compartment to store the "Rider Gears" as seen on TV.

Conclusion
This SIC release, although a twin pack, is not the usual push-to-market type from Bandai. I seen efforts are put on re-sculpting both figures and the loads of “Rider Gears” are quite alluring to Masked Rider fans. This is not the usual twin-pack and worth collecting and great to have along with SIC 28 Masked Rider Faiz.

This item is purchased at Low Yat Plaza.
