Bandai release of SIC volume 24 is the second
release of characters from Masked Rider Ryuki TV
series subsequent to volume 23 Masked Rider Ryuki.
This package comes in a twin-pack of two beautifully
crafted figures of Masked Rider Knight and Masked
Rider Ohjya.
As the story goes, Masked Rider Knight is somewhat the second main character in this series. He initially act as a tour guide to the ignorant Ryuki to the world of Masked Rider where each one of them will have to make a contract to a subdue monster. Each rider draws their unique weapons or power by inserting “Vent” card into their respective “Visor”. There are 13 Masked Rider in total and each of them is hunting each other in a “Highlander” style in order to win the game.
While
Ryuki is a red dragon, Knight made a contract with
the bat monster giving him a signature look of a
slender knight in armor with his bat monster
attached to his back as a cloak. Knight’s
accessories are the interesting feature here. He
possesses a unique saber, Dark Visor; function both
as an elegant weapon and a Vent card reader. The
saber is attached to the belt via a connector. The
saber’s hand guard consists of 2 mini wings and it
swings open revealing a Vent card slot. The slot fit
the Vent card nicely.
The card is painted in metallic black marked with Knight’s logo on it. While the Vent card is not in use, it is kept at Knight’s belt buckle. Some sort of magnetic mechanism keeps the card from falling off from the buckle.
Other than the saber, Masked Rider Knight also comes with his signature weapon, which is his lance. The lance has a long enough to be held with 2 hands. Other gimmicks included are its moveable visor on his head, which can be lifted to reveal his eyes. It also comes with 4 additional hands for posing.
Masked Rider Knight is convertible into ‘Survive’ mode with included additional parts. It comes with a metallic blue Vent card with his logo on it. The card is slotted at either his belt buckle or the shield like “Dark Visor”. His other sword, “Wing Lancer”, is foldable and can slot into the card reader. Knight comes with another 4 extra hands for posing in this mode.
Masked Rider Ohjya is the second figure in this package. Its design resembles a purple cobra as he made a contract with a Cobra monster. It comes with a cool Cobra Staff (Venom Visor), where the head of the staff hide the Vent card reader. Ohjya comes with a metallic purple Vent card with a cobra logo on it. The card can be slotted either into the staff or on its belt buckle. Beside the staff, it comes with another weapon, which is the “Venom Saber”, a drill like sword.
The articulations for both figures are superb. It can be say has exceed the usual SIC standard making this a very good action figure. The only downsize I see is that Ohjya’s shoulder design somewhat limits its movement and that could not be help.
This item was purchased from HLJ via pre-order.
