Bandai release of SIC Volume 25, Alternative Zero & Masked Rider Ryuga, is the third in S.I.C. series to feature characters from Masked Rider Ryuki series. This set is yet another twin-pack that came with two action figures namely Alternative Zero and Masked Rider Ryuga.

As in Kamen Rider Ryuki Movie, Masked Rider Ryuga is the mirror world version of Masked Rider Ryuki. Another age-old Japanese concept of having a completely similar and yet opposite version of you, something like Ryu versus Evil Ryu type of character design. Ryuga is a product of Bandai opportunist attempt and a cheap re-tools of Masked Rider Ryuki, where the difference with its prior release are just a different color scheme and minus his ‘Black Dragreder’ monster.

Ryuga weapons included a Drag Saber (sword), Drag Visor (Shield), and a Dragon Head acting as a flamethrower. The Drag Visor comes with a moveable handle and a slot for the Vent card acting as the card reader. The dragonhead comes with a moveable mouth revealing a flamethrower in it. A metal Vent card is provided and it is painted in black with a dragon logo on it. The card is attached either to the belt buckle or to slot into the Drag Visor. Five additional hands are provided to pose Ryuga in different stance.

Between the two figures, Alternative Zero is most probably the main attraction here. Alternative Zero is not a member of Masked Riders but replicated system build by Dr. Kagawa using technology stolen from Kanzaki, who was responsible for creating Vent Card sets and the Masked Riders. Zero's design is based on a cricket monster and a replication of the Masked Rider system.

Zero comes with 4 extra hands for posing and accompanied by 2 additional weapons. The first weapon is its Zero Sword, a double handed long sword made completely from die cast. The next weapon will be his shield, place on his right arm, and it is extensible to cover his right hand.

This item was purchased from HLJ. The main reason for purchase is just solely for the sake of getting Alternative Zero and to pump up my collection of SIC figures from the Masked Rider Ryuki series. As for a casual collector, I will say getting SIC Vol.23 Masked Rider Ryuki is a way much better choice.
