I
personally am not a big fan of the Masked Rider
saga. I have watched some of the old series showed
on local TV that I have already forgotten the name,
but somehow, the name "Masked Rider RX" (1987-88) is
still on my mind. The story is the typical heroes
that transform at will into a half-man
half-grasshopper being, ride around town in their
custom motorcycles and protecting humankind from an
underground evil organization.
As a kid at that time, I thought the show is silly and boring after watching Kotaro Minami strike a pose and transformed into a Masked Rider and ended the life of the villains of the day with his infamous "Rider Kick" for the 100th times. I did not appreciate the show as at oft times the villains are designed so badly that even a kid knew it is a rubber suit.
However, the Masked Rider on the other side has a very interesting story. As far as I knew, the Masked Rider portrayed in the TV series is just another kid's heroic figure whereas in the manga created and illustrated by Shotaro Ishinomori has a more grasshopper like look.
As far as the story goes, Kotaro was kidnapped and used as a test subject by Golgom, an evil organization, and turned into Masked Rider. He ran away during the experiment but the damage is done enough on him as a person. He is no longer a human but a half-man half-grasshopper "reconstructed man". Golgom then send waves of villains to "silent" him as a cover up for the experiment.
At later episodes, he discovered that he is not the sole victim of the experiment. His lifelong buddy, Nobuhiko Akizuki, has been fully transformed into his bitter rival: “Century King Shadow Moon” and that is the only villain in the entire show that I remember well.

I am not too big a fan of SIC or Masked Rider.
My first impression of the SIC line is some hideous
grasshopper and that really put me off from
purchasing one until now. I just do not get why some
people are buying ugly things then. Its popularity
tempted me and decided to try one. SIC Vol. 17
Shadowmoon is my first purchase of SIC. This
immediately turned me into a collector of SIC. In
basic, SIC series is consisting of a fully
articulated figure w/ roughly at about 30% die-cast
metal in composition. The sculpting and paint job is
top notch.
Shadowmoon comes with an extra hand for gripping his only weapon, the Satan Saber. The well-sculpted figure is fully articulated. Both feet come with 2 ‘leg-triggered’ each, ball-jointed to each side of the ankle, and can move freely in all direction.
This figure is convertible to Masked Rider Black RX [Green Version], by peeling off Shadowmoon armor and be replace with 16 add-on body parts included in the packages. The conversion requires swapping of the body armor, shoulder armor, thigh armor, 2 lower arms, 2 hands and a transformation belt.
The Black RX head sculpt is the intricate part over here. Like an insect, the head consists of 3 segments (head, neck, and torso) interconnected via double-ball joints. The jaw is moveable showing its fangs. The sensor antennae are made of clear brown soft plastic slotted into the tiny holes located on the forehead.

nice. i got one on sale here in manila. the box is pretty tattered but the figure is ok. the ones at your pictures look kinda different, did you repainted them? they look kinda shinny.
