Masked Rider Zolda and Masked Rider Taiga
In a SIC release, the figure plays and important
role to bring out the “Soul of Chogokin”. The figure
is always re-sculpted from the original, articulated
and beautifully painted.
This release is a twin-pack but with my recent experience with SIC, I am getting skeptical with such Bandai marketing approach. Bandai recently keep pushing out twin-packs and these packs are either a re-paint version of something old plus something new (so that they can squeeze out more money), or slap in 1 good and 1 half-heartedly done figure into the same box.
I think this release is a breakthrough from Bandai’s usual marketing ploy. I do see that although both figures reuse the same body from SIC 23 Ryuki, they really put in some efforts in the re-sculpting.
Both figures stand at about the same height, fully articulated with most joints are using double-ball-jointed with an improved articulation in its feet ever since SIC 23 Ryuki. The only qualm I have is that these figures bulky shoulder pads are hindering its arm from raising high up. A similar outfit design issue as seen in SIC 24 Masked Rider Ohjya.
However, when it comes to paint job, these figures are awesome. Paint applications to both figures are astonishingly done especially on Masked Rider Zolda with his rusty chrome metal outlook. The green tone used on the rest of his armor compliment perfectly with his big bad cannon. Masked Rider Taiga paint application is less impressive comparing to Zolda but it is already a notch over most SIC releases with his bright silver and blue strips.
Both figures come with a belt buckle that house a metal vent card. The metallic blue Tiger logo Vent card slots into Taiga’s belt buckle while the metallic green Taurus Vent card goes to Zolda.

Heavy Weapons
The figures are nice but that is not the main
highlight of this release. The weaponry is the main
ingredient makes this release unique. This is the
first SIC seen to carries with such heavy armament
from both figures.
Firstly, let us talk about Taiga. Taiga is a white tiger-like Masked Rider that comes with a pair of claws and an axe as seen in TV series. The pair of fierce looking claws is superbly molded with 5 non-moveable nails each. To equip that massive claws to Taiga require removing his arm guard to pin the claws to the arm. The claws are entirely cast in metal! This brings a good value, but posing with that heavy set of claws is strenuous on the figure.
The second big weapon from Taiga will be its solid Grand Axe that stands higher than the figure. It has a very long handle and a metal blade. The handle is quite solid and I suspect it has a metal rod in it. The axe haft is actually a hidden a Vent Card reader. It requires the white piece of PVC to be removed and a card slot is revealed. That slot fit Taiga’s vent card perfectly.
Taiga already got some impressive big weapon and finally yet importantly is Zolda’s armament. It is the most impressive SIC weapon system ever release. Zolda comes with a huge cannon consists of 3 main parts, a revolver that connects with a long gun barrel (15.5 cm) and a radar attached to the side. This gives the cannon a total length of 28.9 cm! A considerate stabilizer is provided. This metal piece folds down from the main revolver to support the cannon in firing mode. The revolver has a large piece of catch in the rear that folds up. This enables the bullet chamber to slot out from the spindle. The chamber comes loaded with 6 equally impressive large bullets. The figure held the cannon via provided handles, two of them, on the cannon.
The second Zolda weapon is his handgun where its size is overshadow by the cannon. It comes with a gun chamber that slot down revealing the Vent card reader. The gun is made of metal.

Conclusion
This release re-defines the term "Heavy Weapon"
in the world of SIC. It is loaded with a large
amount of die-cast, great figures, and sculpting.
Say bye-bye to your hard-earned cash. This is
definitely a release not to be missed!
