This item is a debut release on Lord of the Rings 12-inch action figures by Sideshow Toys, featuring Aragorn as Strider the Ranger and only limited 4000 pieces is produced. This figure bought at Berjaya Timesquare.

Packaging
This is a new packaging design comparing to the Star Wars series where a bigger and more vibrant box is use. It is a die-cut box that divide the center into 2 flaps that can be open revealing the contents. Although the box comes in a nicer design, I still prefer the more space economic Star Wars box. As a collector, I really do not recommend the trend towards designing bigger boxes. It is hard fact that without space, I cannot get more of these. Moreover, Legolas and Baromir is coming up next in this series and I could only keep this many figures that comes with such a big box.

The magnetic closure that keep the window close, is replaced with the more traditional Velcro. I have no objection that Sideshow is using Velcro. It is only that the Velcro comes off easily as the adhesive applied is not strong enough.

Outfit
This is a plus here on this department. The Star Wars Jedi from Sideshow usually comes with beggar clothing whereas this Aragorn has the luxury to wear something better. Notice that his long duster and boots comes weathered. The extra thread problem is not completely resolved but then it is much minimize on this item.

Figure and Articulation
I got no complain on the articulations and the body comes with very solid joints. Sine the head is not detachable, I do not know how to safely remove the Evenstar's chain. The chain has the tendency to get stuck between the opening on his neck.

Face Sculpt
The usual excellent face sculpt from Sideshow Toy's artist featuring the closest match to the real person available in the market. The hair fringes are slightly in the way else it will be a near perfect sculpt.

Story from the Box Art
A descendant of the lost line of the ancient kings of Men, Aragorn is fated to one day claim the empty throne of Gondor. Few know his secret heritage and destiny, amongst them the wizard Gandalf and the elf-lord Elrond, and some of the Dúnedain, better known as Rangers, who follow him. At Gandalf's advice, Aragorn and his followers take up the defense of the Shire, a small land full of very small people known as Hobbits, and he became known among the peoples just outside the Shire's borders as Strider.

In the common room of the Prancing Pony, an inn in the town of Bree, just outside the Shire, Strider befriends Frodo Baggins and his three hobbit companions. Strider leads the party in their difficult journey to reach Rivendell, elf-haven and home of Elrond. Once there, they join with an elf, a dwarf, a wizard, and the son of the Steward of Gondor to become the Fellowship of the Ring.
