The Sith Lord Outfit
The good guys, as in all human Jedi from Sideshow, comes in beggar like clothing
material. The clothing is rough and poorly done with tons of extra thread jutting out. I am
expecting more or less the same quality for this Darth Maul but I am surprise to find out
that the quality of this Sith Lord outfit has indeed much improved.
The overall quality is slightly better, if not the same, as "Darth Vader's - Sith
Apprentice". The figure is at least a league ahead of those Jedis previously released as it
comes with better clothing and I don't see any necessity to re-dress the figure as it comes
right out of the package.
This is a huge improvement but don't be too happy about it so soon. Sideshow still has a
long way to go and still rated inferior in terms of material and tailoring quality comparing
to other sixth-scale manufacturer like Medicom, Sekiguti and Takara. Do not get me wrong. I
not complaining and I cannot complain for the price that I paid for this figure. I just hope
Sideshow will not stop here but continue to push their already excellent quality to be
better.

| This Sith robe is interesting. The sleeves ends are closed and I
thought this is a QC problem until I found out about the opening at the elbows.
The hands actually goes through the mentioned opening. The hood comes with soft
wire embedded at the hem. |
 |
| The tunic comes with 2 strip of cloth sewn to the back of the
neck. These strips of cloth does make Darth Maul look stylish. |
 |
| The undershirt and pants. |
 |
| The boots and the belt. The belt comes with a lightsaber clip.
The clip is attached to the belt using glue and it will come off if you are not
careful.

Face Sculpt
This is another superb head sculpt from Sideshow. It is very close to Ray Park as
seen in "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace". The horns at his head look dangerous
but actually are made of soft material and nobody will get hurt from it. The expression
come in the usual ever lasting "stone face". I guess Sideshow is hesitant to explore
other form of expression after receiving those negative feedbacks on their Luke
Skywalker.
Standard Pose
The following are photos of Darth Maul in the boring standing pose taken from
the front and back with and without his luxurious Sith robe just for you to have a
better look at his costume.
Action Pose!
Box Art Story
Darth Sidious is an unparalleled mastermind. By subtle arts and quiet maneuvering, the
Sith Lord has engineered a crisis of confidence between the Republic's governing body, the
Galactic Senate, and the galaxy's corporate giants. Spurred to rash action by their secret
benefactor, Trade Federation Viceroy Nute Gunray and his Neimoidian associates have
blockaded the peaceful world of Naboo in order to force a resolution to the taxation issue
that threatens their continued profitability.
Emboldened by their alliance with the secretive Sith Lord, the Neimoidians are unaware
that they are pawns in the opening move of a much larger game being played by the hooded
villain. But when the skittish aliens begin to loose their nerve and fumble the operation,
Darth Sidious unleashes another of his hidden weapons, one far more dangerous and efficient
- one that will not fail him.
Trained in secret as a merciless killing machine, the diabolical Darth Maul is the
perfect counterpart to his Lord's subtlety. Where Darth Sidious is shadowy and elusive, his
scarlet and pitch-tattooed apprentice is a vivid manifestation of Sith rage. Sharpened horns
curve, scythe-like, from the skin of his shaved head and the fiery red thrumming of his
double-bladed lightsaber is matched only by the blazing intensity of his venomous stare.
Armed with a deadly array of weapons and sophisticated tracking equipment, the Sith hunter
is dispatched by Lord Sidious to track down Naboo's errant Queen Amidala and force her to
submit to the Federation's demands. That two Jedi will stand in the killer's way only spurs
Maul's eagerness and fuels his determination. With death and fire, the Sith will at last
reveal themselves to the Jedi!

Responses to this page:
I'm a big Darth Maul fan, and also attracted to him. He is sooooo, sexy and cool. I like his lightsaber and Sith Infiltrator, (Scimitar). Even Sith Speeder bike, (Bloodfin). Well it would be nice to have this Darth Maul 12 inch figure.
