Comment
This is a re-color version of Alternator Optimus
Prime featuring the same Dodge RAM SRT-10 pick-up
truck painted in black with red tinted windshield. I
normally prefer the Binaltech version but the latest
release of KISS Convoy from Takara-Tomy is a huge
disappointment. I bought this item out of anger just
to compare the difference between the Alternator
version and the overprice KISS Convoy.
I am really surprise the difference in quality between Takara and Hasbro is no longer by much. The paint job on this Alternator is quite good except for some of the minor scratched here and there (production defects). The color scheme is less lively and the number of color used is not as much as in the Binaltech line. Hasbro still cheat on the paint job.
This is a solid toy with the usual Alternator or Binaltech features. As for the item itself, I really do not have much complain except for the synchronize-steering mechanism does not really work. This is a design flaw and exist on both version.
The only major complain that I have for Alternator line of toys is the design of its bubble-box. Western Toy Manufacturers still having their perception set in stone that this is merely a toy instead of collectible. Literally, you have to destroy the box in order to open it. Re-packaging the item for safe-keeping is not really easy.
Purchase this from Berjaya Timesquare.
