This is another extraordinary release of Binaltech featuring Prowl transforming to a Honda Integra Type-R and vice-versa. This release comes in 2 versions, which are the police white version and a stock car blue version. The item that I got here is the police version, as I feel it is more interesting to have a multi category of Binaltech cars in my collections.

Vehicle Mode
BT-15 Prowl in vehicle form is a Honda Integra Type-R, colored in Panda scheme (black & white) for Japanese Police use. The paint is not applied well comparing to the blue version. I believe applying white paint on metal is difficult as I notice a similar condition as in BT-08 white version. There are noticeable paint chips, paint runs and minor air bubble here and there.

Prowl comes with 2 secret weapon. The first secret weapon is his gun that transform to a Honda 2.0L VTEC engine. The other is a blight stick that hidden inside the rear bumper. The bumper must be opened to remove the blight stick. It comes molded in clear red plastic with a white handle. There are 2 tiny pins on the stick. One is to secure the stick onto Prowls hand and the other is to keep the stick on Prowl’s left leg in robot mode.

The car front hood opens to reveal an empty engine compartment, reserved for Prowl’s secret weapon. Initially I got some problems with placing the engine onto the front compartment. The arms are folded wrongly during packing and it get in its way. The problem goes away after I have transformed the car to robot and then back.

The exterior body is never dull. It is marked with very tiny decals of with Honda and Integra Type-R marking here and there. The car roof comes with a cool police light bar, colored in clear red on silver frame. This feature is exclusive to the police version, which makes it a more popular than the blue version.

The car comes with a snazzy aero wing with a rear bonnet that opens. This is a welcome improvement over BT-01 Smokescreen and BT-10 Grimlock, but the divider line at the rear is obvious as usual.

The car is a two-seater with 2 doors that open. Each door comes with a side mirror, plated in silver to imitate a real mirror. When the doors open, it reveals an interior that is never dull. It comes with a detailed dashboard and a steering wheel that steers. The steering wheel folds down during transformation. A tiny gear stick is visible too. The seat is colored in grey and unlike BT-12 Honda S2000, which uses bucket seat; the seats are just some plain stock car seat. Both seat folds down during transformation.

Front bumper does not have a license plate but have a cool gold Integra logo, whereas the license plate at rear bumper is marked with an Autobot logo and the word ‘PROWL’.

The car comes with wheel that uses 10-spokes sport rims. It has smaller tires compared to BT-12 Overdrive. It also comes with visible disc brakes that differ between front and rear sets. Tires are patterned with the wording “Radial” and “Cybertronians” on it. Both front wheels steer in-sync. This is achieved via a magnet mechanism that connects the wheels to a moveable bar inside the bumper.

Robot Mode
When Prowl transforms to robot mode, it features a figure with good amount of articulations. Especially on the upper limbs where it can folds all the way backward. The hand is the usual moveable 1 finger plus 4 fingers ball jointed to the arm. The articulation on the lower limbs is slightly disappointing. The hips movement is all right. It also comes with a knee joint but that bring little movement to the knee since the bulky lower leg that block its backward movement. The feet are a plus point here. It comes ball-jointed and allows a good freedom of movement.

Prowl head design is the usual reuse of G1 design. It is colored with silver on white with a red V-fin. It does look plain and I do wish it came with some striking panel lining to emphasize the details.

Conclusion
The release of Prowl in a Japanese Police Honda Integra Type-R is definitely interesting but this refreshing release is regrettably marred by its below average quality. The robot is nothing outstanding too. If you need a Honda, consider BT-12 Overdrive.
