This is a first release of Binaltech Asterisk
series (BTA) and a variation from the normal
Binaltech line of Transformers featuring Alert,
Subaru Imprezza WRX meets Ai.
This is a re-paint version of BT-01 Smokescreen and BT-03 Silverstreak. It is expected that it has the same transformation sequence and gimmicks. What make this release interesting is that it comes with an Ai PVC figure dressed in a police officer costume. The normal Binaltech comes without a driver and Takara is adding some form of story and a human partner to accompany the BTA series.
The PVC figure is the major differentiation from the Binaltech series. It is in-scale, articulated and comes with additional parts changeable for posing it standing or driving.
Other improvement made on this is the packaging. It makes a collector packing and unpacking the robot so much easier than the usual Binaltech boxes. It does not make use of any twisted wire to secure its content!
The instruction booklet is improved. Now it comes in a single sheet card folded in 6 pages front and back. I really like the premium feel to it.
