Comment
Hasbro marks Leobreaker as a Voyager Class, meaning it
is one grade lower than the Ultra Class figure. Voyager
class only comes with a sound gimmick. The sound gimmick
requires 3 AAA batteries and it is not included in the
package.
The package box has a big window showing Leobreaker in lion form. The package also includes a Jungle Planet Key, a tail whip, an instruction sheet and a star map. The Cyber Planet Key is colored in clear translucent green with silver rim and insignia while the star map (Speed Planet) is just another cheesy name for its product catalog. Instruction manual is included. The packaging is definitely interesting and much nicer than the Japanese version but un-packing and re-packing the item is tedious since it comes with numerous twisted wires securing the figure.
Animal Form
This is a Jungle Planet Transformers thus, it is logical
that Leobreaker transform into a lion. The lion as in seen
in photo (the real photo not the fake touch-up photo from
Hasbro) really do not do Leobreaker justice. It is actually
look much better from close up. It colored in brown, yellow,
gunmetal and white with a touch of metallic green that
really suit the image of a mechanical animal. I really like
the fur sculpt on the mane. It is very detail and well done.
Leobreaker has ample amount of articulation on its lion form. All limbs moves in a lion-like fashion. The only downside is that the front limb is rigid. It is just too bad that it cannot swerve slightly sideway like Cybertron Scourge.
Leobreaker in animal form comes some good gimmick with its Cyber Planet Key. When the key inserted into either side of the slot, the shredder claw sprang out. Both shredder claws activated individually. Although, it is a simple gimmick, I believe this complement very well to Leobreaker image.
The second gimmick is the sound capability. A green button is located on the lion forehead like a scalp tattoo. Pushing the button activate the sound feature and open its jaw. The box stated that Leobreaker comes with a “Mighty Roar” sound but to my disappointment, what I get is something like a “Cat Fight” sound.
(Note: I seen the product photos put up on Hasbro’s Official Transformers site and own quite a number of Hasbro product by now. Now, I seriously doubt the honesty of Hasbro in advertising their product. At least the Japs are more honest)

Robot
Leobreaker in robot mode is well sculpted with a head
that look similar to Cybertron Scourge. The body proportion
is a bit weird where it has long arms and short lower leg.
The hands are form by its paws with moveable thumbs.
As a voyager class figure, I am slightly disappointed with its articulations. The head rotated but blocked by its collar. Knee bends but does not rotate sideway. The shoulder is rigid allowing just a single plane of movement to front and back. It does not allow the shoulder to swivel sideways. In order to overcome this rigidness, Leobreaker comes with an upper arm that split or detach outwards. This helps the posing but degrades its aesthetic value.
There are some fun values on robot mode. It comes with the standard Jungle Planet Key that slot into either side of its arm to spring out its shredder claw. This gimmicks do looks better in robot form. As oppose in his lion form, the lion already have claws and there is not point to give the lion somewhat a longer claws. In robot mode, the shredder claws gave Leobreaker a Wolverine feel, which I think is cooler this way. The next gimmick will be its tail. While in robot mode, the lion tail is detached and work as a jungle whip for robot mode. The lame reuse of its tail as whip is marginally okay. I believe the tail whip will be cooler if it comes articulated.

Combining with Optimus Prime
The best Leobreaker gimmick will be its capability to
‘gattai’ (combine) with Optimus Prime as his humongous claw
arm! Leobreaker is the one of the two known figure that can
combine with Prime. (I am buying Leobreaker just for his
combination capability with Prime)
Note that its connector is also compatible with Megatron arm socket. The claw articulation very much depends on Leobreaker hind legs and feet. The Leo’s connector to Prime is rotate-able allowing Prime bringing the claw up and down.

Conclusion
Leobreaker is at its best in alternate mode (lion). In
robot mode, its lack of articulation and flawed proportions
is a slight letdown for a Voyager Class toy. However, its
capability to combine with Optimus Prime is worthy to be in
your “must have” list. I do recommend this for all Cybertron
Prime owners.
This toy is bought from Graffiti Toys, Berjaya Times Square.
