Comment
I have bought the Takara version of a smaller Cybertron Optimus Prime (THS-01). It is a very detailed figure and a good collector items. However, I felt something is missing. As with my other Transformers, either from the Binaltech series or my Masterpiece Convoy, I need to treat them with extreme care during play. Transformers are supposed to be a toy. It is supposed to be fun, transforming it through and fro or combine it with others. Since THS-01 comes with a very impressive Optimus Prime, thus I decided to try this out.

This toy is bought from Graffiti Toys, Berjaya Times Square along with Energon Optimus Prime. The version I got here is a US version, manufactured by Hasbro, branded as Transformer Cybertron Optimus Prime (Galaxy Convoy in Japan). The Japanese version is too expensive for a toy for me as the price double on what I pay for this.

The package comes with a big window showing Optimus Prime in Super Mode. There are 2 wing clips attached and 1 missile tapered to inside the box. It also comes with a Cyber Planet Key to activate its special feature. It also comes with an instruction sheet and a star map. The star map is just a gimmick showing its other Cybertron product. The packaging is definitely interesting and much nicer than the Japanese version.

However, I have a few complains though. Firstly, it took a considerable amount of efforts to take out the toy. It is tied with numerous twisted wires all over the place. Moreover, putting back the toy for safekeeping is another hassle. The second complain will be its wing clips. It is just too hard to assemble the wings to the toy. It really needs a strong adult and not something that an ‘Age 5+’ kid could do.

There are tons of gimmick on is toy. The Cyber Planet Key is one of them. It is required to activate Prime’s Mega Ion Cannon or its missile launcher. When the key slots into the mega ion cannon, it spring open the cannon, turning it into a fork-like shape, and make an activation sound. There is a little blue button to the side of the cannon. It gives a different sound effect when it is in normal mode or in Key-Activated mode. The other cannon have a slot to attach Prime’s rifle as its gun barrel. The cyber planet key is use to spring out both of its missile launchers. The missile that comes with this package is to be inserted into these launchers and the rifle. All missiles shoot out via a spring mechanism.

I have a small complain on the Cyber planet key. THS01 Galaxy Convoy comes with 2-cyber planet keys, whereas this figure comes with one. Moreover, the key has the gold paints missing on its handle. As far as I know, the missing paint job does not exist in the version from Takara.

On transformation aspect, Optimus Prime can change from a normal Robot mode to Super Mode. This is done by combining its wing and cannon to it. This is the best-looking mode. On the other hand, he changes from robot mode into a fire truck. Again, the fire truck can change to a flying mode.

Conclusion
Cybertron Prime is by far the best-looking Prime around. Its super mode is simply astounding and it even surpassing Energon Prime. It is sculpted in good enough detail and come with great play value, especially combining it with Leobreaker and Sonic Bomber.

Optimus Prime Super Mode! The best-looking Optimus Prime ever.
Detailed Sculpting on wings. This is a behind that never look dull.

The matrix could be taken out... but I will die if I did that, right?
Look! I got the key from Hasbro but there is no gold on it! Cheapskate!

Autobots, Transform! ...
... and roll out! Basic trailer Mode!
Wait... There's more. Let's put these leg cannons on! I am long hauler now!
That's not the final form. Let me reverse into my wings Yeah! I am a fire truck!
Holy cow! A flying fire truck! Prime with its gun emplacement (not shown in the manual)
