Introduction
Scourge is the brutal and awesomely powerful ruler of
the Jungle Planet. He views any display of kindness,
compassion or generosity as weakness, and he hates
weakness. Cold, distant, and prone to violent rage
against those he views as lesser creatures, he holds
most of the Jungle Planet firmly in his trans-metal
claw. Those defying him are likely to experience the
searing heat of his stellar plasma breath, or the
bite of his axe as their final sensation before
their spark is extinguished. Overhaul, Snarl and the
Jungle Planet rebels will find him to be the most
powerful foe they have ever faced.
Convert Scourge from terrifying dragon to evil robot warrior and back! This robot is armed with a fearsome battle-axe disguised as a tail in beast mode! Unlock Scourge’s rage by using the Cyber Planet Key to activate electronic blazing eyes or his terrible dragon scream! Or reveal the three-headed Hydra Mode for even more power! Scourge is the leading force behind the overgrowth of evil that is threatening Cybertron. Will you be brave enough to stop him?
- Three-headed dragon changes to robot featuring electronic lights and sounds and disguised battle-axe!
- Package includes three button-cell batteries.
- Figure comes with accessories, Cyber Planet Key, planet map and instructions.
Comment
Scourge (or Japanese Name Flame Convoy) is an Ultra
Class figure that comes with additional sounds and lights
gimmicks. These gimmicks requires 3 LR44 (button cell)
batteries that are included in the package.
The package box has a big window showing Scourge in its dragon form. The package also includes a dragon tail transformable to giant axe, a gold-rimmed Jungle Planet Key, a star map and an instruction sheet.
The Cyber Planet Key is colored in clear translucent green with gold rim and insignia. The star map is actually a Cybertron product catalog. The packaging is definitely interesting but un-packing and re-packing the item is tedious since it comes with numerous twisted wires securing the figure.
Dragon
Scourge alternate form is a 4-legged dragon colored
mainly in gunmetal, black, orange and yellow. The paint job
is one of the features that make Scourge unique where some
purple toning are seen on its dragon’s head, wings and tail.
Since Scourge is a dragon, it demands some level of articulations to make this fun to be play. Unlike Leobreaker, the articulations in this form are not bad at all. The dragon’s head moves slightly downwards and a jaw that opens. Its wings fold open outwards 90 degree and each leg comes with ankle joints. It hind legs move slightly outwards. There are 2 points of articulation on its tail that allow it to bend into a 90 degree “L” shape.
Scourge in dragon form comes with quite an amount of fun. A cyber planet key is used to slot into its back and change Scourge into a 3-headed hydra. It sprang out its 2 smaller dragonheads accompanied by a transformation noise. There is a yellow button placed slightly in front of the key slot. When the key is inserted, the button produce a laser beam sound with flashing lights on its forehead, eyes and throat. When the key is taken out, the button produces a dragon roar and the mentioned light gimmicks.

Robot
Scourge in robot mode is the basic stand-up dragon. This
means that the transformation straighten all its dragon
legs. It comes with a good head sculpt with 2 sharp fangs
jutting up. The body proportion is perfect.
Scourge comes with a head that rotates. There are tons of click-joint on this figure located at its knees, ankles, elbows, hips and shoulders. It shoulders, decorated with its majestic wings, able to fold backwards providing additional movement point.
The only bad points that I see is its unmovable waist and a pair of hands that does not rotates. Scourge comes with a very large axe transforms from its tail. The lack of articulation on its wrist does present some problems at posing with his axe. There is also a slight weight balance issue here. Both of its feet are sometimes not enough to support its heavy body.
Scourge comes packed with fun values. It comes with an axe measuring at a 21.5 cm in length, which transformed from its tail. The planet key triggers the same effect as in his animal form. However, 2 smaller dragonheads need an additional step that is to fold them down becoming Scourge shoulder cannons.

Conclusion
Scourge can be said the best ultra class figure released
to date. It comes with a killer look in both of its
forms, good amount of articulations and tons of fun
value. This toy is bought from Parkson Grand during Mega
Sales Carnival.
