Story
The
story takes place in a future where the human race
expands and inhabits a multitude of planets in the
universe with fantastic technology. Unsurprisingly,
crime has grown alongside technology, and thus the
GOTT, Galactic Organization of Trade and Tariffs, is
formed as a sort of universal police force. Within
this organization, there is a special and secret
branch known as the ES Force, consisting of twelve
young people that possess amazing superpowers. Each
ES member operates with another as a team, and the
series focus is on a team of two low-level members,
Eclair and Lumiere.
Eclair is the older out of her partner, Lumiere.
Utilizing superhuman strength and speed and her
"Rouge Whip" to defeat her enemies, Eclair is one of
the most powerful members of GOTT. She likes to have
a lot of fun in her work, often dressing up in
different costumes on her missions. Although Eclair
is the more hotheaded member, willing to get her
hands dirty and head into a fight without
hesitation, she is also a very kind and caring
person, willing to help friend and stranger alike.
However, this gets her into trouble later in the
story. Her abilities can be hard to control, which
causes problems in day-to-day life so she uses a
self-hypnotic suggestion to restrict her powers.
This restriction is released by the act of putting
on lipstick, although she has been known to
substitute her own blood in extreme circumstances.
Although Lumiere is much younger than her partner
is, she is the more mature and levelheaded person of
the duo. Unlike Eclair, she relies more on logic and
planning to get ahead and often scolds Eclair in a
motherly manner to be "more elegant" in her work.
Lumiere also enjoys many of the finer things in life
such as wine, opera, and the arts. She uses the
"puppet" ability to hack into and control many
different kinds of computers and machinery. Although
Lumiere operates more on logic than emotion, she
cares deeply for her partner Eclair.
Comment
This is another beautiful release from BOME. Now
at volume 9 featuring two 1/8 scale figures, Eclair
and Lumiere from Kiddy Grade anime series. This is
the first 2 of the many Kiddy Grade sculpt done by
BOME. Each figure comes with a custom display base
colored in purple with the GOTT marking on it. This
means that both figures can be displayed together or
separately.
The sculpting is excellent. It look as in anime
and comes with many fine details such as the laces,
earrings and non-matching boots design making this a
differentiation between BOME's work from the horde
of other PVC sculptors.
The paint job is the usual superb. Skin tone
looks good and gear towards a redder tone. The
outfits are as seen on anime series. Effort are
noticeable on using gloss and flat paint where
Eclair outfit is in gloss red and Lumiere is in flat
blue.
Since this is PVC, expect some mold line on the
figure. It can be seen at the side of the thigh but
a matter easily been overlook. The only qualm I have
is that the cross shape cutting on Eclair dress. It
will be nice if BOME put some depth onto it rather
than being flat between her expose belly and her
dress.
This is a beautiful set of figures (and I do mean
beautiful) and come in a reasonable price. You
cannot go wrong with BOME.
