Story
Naru Narusegawa is a character in Love Hina, a
popular manga (and anime) series by author Ken
Akamatsu. She is a 17-year old student at Urashima
Keitaro's cram school with an extremely fiery
temper. Despite that or rather in ignorance of it,
she is quite popular with everyone, including the
manga series' fans. Naru is a boarder at the Hinata
House, in Room 304.
The story centers on a 19-year old Keitaro
Urashima, a young man desperately trying to be
accepted into the prestigious University of Tokyo in
order to keep a childhood promise. His obsessive
bent of doing so is one of the few shining spots of
optimism in his otherwise unlucky life. He becomes
manager of the Hinata House, property of his family
and now an all-girls' dormitory. The story takes
place in the Kanagawa Prefecture.
After much tribulation, he wins their respect and
eventual affection. From the beginning of the
series, he suffers physical damage and abuse, which
continues and increases as the series go on. Due to
the anime covering a smaller portion of the manga
story arcs in a shorter period, in that medium, he
appears to suffer less.
Keitaro's primary (and usually exclusive)
interest is in Naru Narusegawa, though all the other
girls have different sorts of affections for him
(including close friend, a playmate, and
non-threatening crush object). Keitaro and Naru's
relationship is complicated by several girls falling
for him, including several "promised" girls in the
anime, or girls Keitaro promised a future
relationship with while he was younger.
Comment
Another gorgeous 1/8 scale PVC figure featuring
Naru Narusegawa from Love Hina. Originally sculpted
by Chieri as a resin kit and now brought to PVC
medium by Max Factory. This is can be said to be the
most popular sculpt of Narusegawa.
She comes in a leaves bikini and translucent
orange hair. She is beautiful to pose as it is or
put on her optional hot pants. The package comes
with additional parts to swap her to 2 different
outlooks. Her hot pants comes in 2 parts, front and
back, snap together as one. Her right fingers can be
removed to tug in her pink tank top.
The paint job is the usual excellent from Max
Factory. Mold lines are spotted on both sides of the
body running down from arms to body to her leg.
Although, it is hardly visible, I am slightly
disappointed with the lack of effort in hiding the
lines.
The figure comes with a translucent blue display
base that is screwed to her leg.
In short, this is an excellent sculpt. I am
seriously considering building a resin figure of
this until it is announced that a PVC medium is
being released. This is a recommended figure for
Naru’s fans.
