Comment
Murakami is another stunning release of the Bio
Fighter Collection series from Max Factory mark with
a “03” denoting the third of the series following
Guyver III and Aptom IV.
The package comes nicely packaged in a crystal
box with illustrations and some instructions on the
back cover. The figure is fully articulated allows
posing in just about any way imaginable while the
joints are well hidden. The paint job is flawlessly
done. Comparing to Guyver II, Murakami is using
neutral and flat color with 2-tone shading. The
figure is not as shinny and gives a pleasing overall
appearance.
Articulation is the main point here. It comes
with a ball-jointed neck allowing the head to move
freely. The shoulder comes with hidden plane
allowing it to moves up sideway. Both elbows rotate
and hinged allowing it to fold its arms at about 90
degrees. The waist has a slight limitation here
where it only rotates sideways about 45 degrees on
each side. There isn’t any vertical movement. The
hips are a special ball joint where the ball is
further split in half and it moves. This allows its
leg to split sideway at about 60 degrees while
enjoying the normal ball jointed hip. The knees are
double-hinged jointed providing maximum
maneuverability. The feet are single ball-joints.
It is disappointing when it comes to its
accessories. Unlike the Guyver III, this package
comes with minimal parts, which consists of 3
additional hands (2 palm and 1 right chop) and a
display base with metal stand to hold the figure.
Although Murakami comes with a solid figure, I
cannot help but to feel slightly let down by it. Max
Factory did release 2 solid releases prior to this.
For those who own either Guyver III or Aptom IV will
know what I mean. Murakami just simply overshadow by
its excellent predecessor.
