Comment
This is a cool mech. Standing as the second highest of my entire 1/144 model collection so far. However the
overall feel is spoilt by its puny armaments. Plastic is molded in very poor color as silver swirl is obvious on the
plastic surface. Painting is highly recommended. Owning to the original design, posing is great for a HG. The joint
system in this kit is some sort of a scale down version of the 1/100 SUMO. Expect a generous degree of movement.
Packaging
- 4 plastic trees. 1 sticker, 1 polycaps.
- Plastic molded in 2 colors. Painting is optional.
- Plastic quality average.
- Some pictures on the box and a small 6 pages manual.
Weapons, Gimmicks and Accessories
- Beam Gun
- Heat Fan
- IF Generator
I am sad to say that the weapon and accessories is not impressive enough for me to put it on the model for display. I will blame this on the design. SUMO a huge mech and it really spoil the overall look with its teeny-weeny weapons. I think a plain SUMO looks much better.
Construction Note
- Base coat is hand brushed with chrome silver, flat blue and dark grey.
- My hand is not steady enough at this point so I use masking for the 3 part coloring behind the leg.
- Use gloss red for the shoulder and the chest plate.
- Panel line is done with pigment pen.
- Color: Gloss Red, Chrome Silver, Flat Blue, Flat Yellow.
In brief
Do not buy this kit if you are not painting it.
